How We Test Our Recipes
Last updated: October 10, 2026
We don't have a test kitchen with a film crew. What we do have is a method — and we'd rather tell you exactly what it is than pretend otherwise.
Every recipe
- Classic foundations. Our recipes are built on classic, well-tested combinations — not experimental novelties. If a million home cooks have made it work, the foundation is sound.
- Sane ratios. We check that ingredient amounts make sense together — enough binder, enough liquid, balanced seasoning — before anything publishes.
- Realistic timing. "Ready in 5 minutes" means 5 minutes for a normal human in a normal kitchen, not a chef with everything pre-measured.
- Honest nutrition estimates. Calorie and protein figures are careful estimates, clearly labeled as estimates — never presented as lab results.
Every product pick
When we recommend kitchen gear, we read many real customer reviews across retailers, compare the recurring praise and complaints, and only recommend products with a genuine track record. We never recommend something we wouldn't buy ourselves.
When we're wrong
Mistakes happen. If you try a recipe and something's off — or you spot an error on any page — tell us. We fix verified errors fast and we'd rather hear it from you than let it sit.
